No, unfortunately we are unable to induct students who are still under the first year engineering student classification. To be eligible for induction, you must have CODAed into an eligible engineering major. You can find the list of eligible majors here. If you maintain your class rank, we will invite you to join Tau Beta Pi once you CODA into an eligible major.

All members of Tau Beta Pi must participate in inductions to formally join the organization. Historically, all inductees were required to attend inductions in person, but Tau Beta Pi has recently approved hybrid inductions, allowing inductees that live far from their university or who have travel conflicts to attend online.

Alternatively, if the date still poses an issue, you may be inducted at another nearby chapter with a more preferable induction date. Contingent on chapter approval, you may also attend inductions in a later semester if you maintain your class rank. If you have a conflict with induction and need to make alterantive arrangements, including joining online, please contact tbp-nc-alpha@ncsu.edu as soon as possible.
