President: Anna Lawrence

Photo of Anna Lawrence

Anna Lawrence is a senior in Chemical Engineering and Science, Technology,
& Society (STS) graduating in May 2024. She has been involved with the chapter
since her induction in December 2020, previously serving as the Publicity Chair.
Her favorite thing about Tau Beta Pi is the community created through bringing
engineers of different disciplines together. On campus, Anna is also involved
in the Goodnight Scholars Program and works for Dr Li’s lab to synthesize
perovskite oxides. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family
and being outdoors, including hiking and rock climbing.

Vice President: Drew Marley

Photo of Drew MarleyDrew Marley is a senior in Electrical Engineering, graduating in May 2024. He
plans to complete an Accelerated Masters in Electric Power Systems
Engineering, graduating in May 2025. Drew joined NC Alpha Chapter in the
Fall of 2022 and has served as Vice President since Fall 2023. He is currently
working in Transmission Engineering at Duke Energy in the Protection &
Controls Area. Drew’s hobbies include snowboarding, soccer, gym, video
games, and TV shows.

Israel Romero-Garcia

Photo of Israel-Romero GarciaIsrael Romero-Garcia is a senior in Construction Engineering. Graduating in
May 2024, Israel started his journey in Wake Tech Community College and
then joined NCSU in Spring 2022. He was inducted in Fall 2022 and has been
involved with Tau Beta Pi NC Alpha Chapter since Spring 2023 serving as
Recording Secretary and currently as Treasurer. Israel enjoys Tau Beta Pi as he
gets to meet engineers from other disciplines as well as having a sense of
community with the chapter. If you have any civil engineering questions, you
should come ask him! Outside of school, Israel is at Mott Macdonald, a civil
engineering consulting firm, and has a background in the contracting construction
industry. Israel enjoys the outdoors, so if not working, you will most likely find him on a hike or on a run.

Corresponding Secretary: Lindsey Jacobson

Photo of Lindsey JacobsonLindsey Jacobson is a second-year PhD student in Mechanical Engineering.
She graduated from NC State with a BS in Aerospace Engineering in 2022 and
has been involved with the NC Alpha Chapter of TBP since her induction in
2019. In addition to serving as the Corresponding Secretary, she has
previously served as the chapter Vice President (2020-2022) and President
(2022-2023). Lindsey’s favorite thing about TBP is meeting people in different
engineering disciplines and learning about their work. Outside of school,
Lindsey is a Pathways Intern at NASA Langley Research Center, and she enjoys
traveling, hiking, running, and cooking.

Recording Secretary: Trung Le

Photo of Trung LeTrung Le is a senior by credit in Computer Science graduating in May 2025.
He started his college career at JD Clement Early College on the campus of
NCCU and then joined NCSU in the Fall of 2022. He was inducted into Tau
Beta Pi in the Spring of 2023 and is now serving as the Recording Secretary.
Trung’s hobbies include video games, movies, music, chess, and hiking. 

 

 

Inductions Chair: Xinyu (Lucy) Xu

Photo of Lucy XuIn her third year of the Ph.D. program in Industrial and Systems Engineering,
Lucy has taken on the role of the induction chair for the NC Alpha Chapter of
TBP since her initiation in April 2023. What she appreciates most about TBP is
the tight-knit community among engineers and the shared commitment to
integrity and excellence. Beyond her academic endeavors, Lucy is devoted to
improving the lives of felines. Her joys extend to quality time with loved ones,
engaging in archery, and embracing the exhilaration of horseback riding and
skydiving.

Professional Development Chair: John Stone

Photo of John StoneJohn Stone is a senior undergraduate in Electrical Engineering graduating in
the fall of 2024 and plans to pursue an Accelerated Masters in Electrical
Power Systems Engineering. He has been involved in Tau Beta Pi since his
induction in Fall 2022 and was recently elected as the professional
development chair in Fall 2023. John enjoys being in Tau Beta Pi because of
the opportunities to meet engineers from other majors and expand his and
others social networks. He is currently in a Co-op with Duke Energy, where he
has worked with their Transmission Department and Energy Control Center.
Some of his favorite free time activities are skating, going to the gym to
workout or climb, pickleball, video games, and DnD.

Events Chair: Tori Crunkleton

Photo of Tori CrunkletonTori Crunkleton is a senior in Materials Science and Engineering, graduating in
May 2024. She will start a Ph.D. program in Materials Science and Engineering
or Biomedical Engineering in the Fall of 2024. Tori joined the TBP NC Alpha
Chapter in the Spring of 2023 and started serving as the Events Chair for the
Spring 2024 semester. Currently, she works in a lab at NC State doing
computational modeling for applications in drug delivery vehicles. Outside of
school and work, Tori likes running, spending time outside, reading, baking,
and music.

Design Initiatives Chair: Sailor Koeplinger

Photo of Sailor KoeplingerSailor Koeplinger is a second-year PhD student in Aerospace Engineering
studying Computational Fluid Dynamics. He graduated from NC State with a
BS in AE in 2022 and was inducted to TBP NC Alpha in the Fall of 2020. Before
serving as the design initiatives chair, Sailor has been the Corresponding
Secretary and Professional Development Chair for the chapter. Outside of the
classroom Sailor is active in the rocketry club and enjoys to cook and spend
time in nature.
